The Language and Behavior Center offers in-home as well as clinic-based ABA services.  In-home ABA services are best for children that require development in several areas, such as language, social skills, and functional behavior.  This model involves the development of verbal behavior through systematic teaching.  Through the development of language and skills building, children often naturally decrease their problem behaviors.  Clinic-based services are offered to children that benefit from a more structured environment.  All sessions are run by Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and supervised by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)

The Language and Behavior Center begins each intake with questions regarding your family's needs to ensure ABA services are tailored to you and your child.  Following the intake, an initial assessment is conducted to determine your child's areas of strengths and needs.  This assessment is then used to develop an individualized treatment plan for your child.  Our treatment plans are used to guide ABA services, and are adjusted as your child masters goals or new areas of need are discovered.

The amount of hours recommended for ABA services are based on the specific needs of your child and your family's availability for services. If you're interested in learning more about ABA services, reach out to us and we'll be happy to discuss our process with you.

Occupational therapy gives pediatric patients the skills necessary to perform everyday activities in the home, classroom, and other environments. Children may have challenges associated with physical, mental, or emotional development. Occupational therapists design treatment plans to help your child reach pediatric milestones, preventing or delaying problems that can interfere with your child’s performance in age-appropriate tasks.

Occupational therapy pediatric interventions may include fine motor skills needed for school, feeding interventions to help children eat on their own or mental health interventions to help children learn coping skills for anxiety. Extensive occupational therapy and children’s play can also help with sensory-processing difficulties. Occupational therapists perform evaluations, use equipment, and design treatment plans based on the specific childhood age.

Our occupational therapists are available in-person as well as through telehealth!

We are not accepting OT applications at this time

A step above a typical babysitter, our play experts are trained in child development as well as positive behavior systems. They understand the importance of developmentally appropriate play as well as consistent structure and boundaries.

Our play experts are available to:

  • Engage your child for 2-3 hour windows while you work from home.

  • Care for your child while you take a night off (whether that's out for a date night, a Zoom happy hour with college friends, or a game night at the neighbor's house)

  • Lead your child through tea parties, jungle safaris, and backyard adventures while you head to work for the day

  • Support your child with their online classes by setting up a structured plan to complete assignments and offering instruction as needed

Our play experts can now engage your child virtually to provide a reprieve from 24/7 parenting! Armed with virtual resources to entertain your child, our play experts are trained to keep your child engaged while you get a much needed window of time for yourself.

For families that would like training in best-practice ABA strategies, or help with a specific concern, consultation may be the right option for you.

Consultations range from initial trainings, to weekly, monthly or quarterly consultations.  BCBAs are able to consult with you in-person or over the phone.  Depending on your needs, BCBAs can provide you with training in Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), Toilet Training, or Behavior Management.

BCBAs are also available to consult with your child's teacher or attend IEP meetings.

Interested in learning more about the consultation model?  Give us a call or e-mail and we'll be happy to chat with you!

IS YOUR CHILD READY TO DITCH THE DIAPERS?

DOES YOUR CHILD SEEM BOTHERED WHEN THEY HAVE A WET OR DIRTY DIAPER?

Does your child try to pull off their diaper?  Or tell you that it's wet?  Do they seem uncomfortable when they have a wet or dirty diaper?  These are all signs that your child may be ready for the potty!

Meeting

Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings can be stressful for all involved.  The process can be difficult to navigate and many parents may not know what their child is entitled to.  The Language and Behavior Center is available to attend IEP meetings, and/or provide consultation to parents during the IEP process.

The Language and Behavior Center hosts weekend social skills groups as well as summer camps for children that need a little support and guidance to build successful friends.  These groups focus on cooperative play, participation during group activities, joint attention, as well as increasing communication.  Activities incorporate turn taking and sharing, as well as conversations with peers. Speech Therapists support the camp and social skills groups to ensure all children are engaging in functional communication throughout the day.
